I have updated the github and I wonder if someone knows about a more elegant way of doing this:
https://github.com/EdddieN/machinon/blo ... i_setup.md

There's a part where I need to give nginx access to the python files to push the configuration of the hardware board via the UART. Without these permissions, the web client will not allow to execute the python files.... for good reason!

Is there a different way of doing this? So far this is what I have to do:

Code: Select all

sudo chown -R www-data /var/www/html
sudo chmod -R 770 /var/www/html/
sudo usermod -a -G dialout www-data
sudo usermod -a -G www-data pi

If you're still looking for beta-testers: we're currently remodeling our house (completely) so I'm installing a home automation system. Still thinking whether I should install z-wave or a PLC system. Would be interested in testing your prototype!

Yes interested, I have 1, maybe 2 units left so need to make sure they good into a good (developer) house.

The key area I would love help is an easier integration with Domoticz, see this link and you'll see what I mean:
https://github.com/EdddieN/machinon/blo ... i_setup.md

The other area which is not really machinon related but I'm quite keen to lift up Domoticz UX is here:

If you can help... I'll fight for you for a prototype :D

A bit of topic, started to play with Raex motors, their dry contact remotes and also with RFXCom. A few videos here:

Ok, thinking about simplifying the design and focusing more on the I/Os only, that is no LCD display. That should help to bring the cost down to the circa €100.

Has anyone any reason to need the LCD display?

Would a simple Oled display not be more cheaper to use?
In general i think only having basic info on the display would be required like IP, Load, Bandwidth

Is not so much the LCD but the extra electronic circuit and its mechanical parts assembly. Is almost like having x 2 of everything

What is a oob?

NTC / PTC = yes
PT100 / PT1000 = I'll have a look, probably PT1000 too as the ADC converter is a 14-16 bit
