Post by Faecon » Tuesday 06 February 2018 18:18

Hello,

To start with domoticz I want to control 2 devices I already have

1. Bose soundtouch
2. Panasonic tv ( getting the tv on again)

both work with a script and a python library. Where can i find a decent tutorial how to install this ?

Hi @Faecon,

I'd say you have multiple ways to use your python library and scripts, depending on your ease with coding.

You can take a look at Scripting in Domoticz wiki where it shows that LUA scripts can be used to call python scripts or that you can directly call your python/bash scripts with a dummy device.

If you feel confident with coding, you can also Develop a Python plugin in order to create your own Devices in Domoticz and share it with the community (that would be great!).

Have you checked the excellent wiki pages? For instance it has a page about a plugin for Panasonic TV's https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Panasonic_TV
