Fibaro KeyFob switches not added

Post by RvdM » Tuesday 19 June 2018 22:35

Version: V3.9651 / Build Hash: eeb997e / Build Date: 2018-06-19 17:29:25
Platform: Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS
Hardware: Z-StickGen 5 and Fibaro KeyFob FGKF-601
Note: Recompiled domoticz and all the dependecies such as openzwave and boost.

Description:
I've bought two keyfobs from Fibaro. Adding those to the zwave network works and domoticz sees the keyfobs in the hardware list. However, just like several people on this forum, I noticed that the switches are not added to the list of devices after the keyfobs are included into the zwave network.

Steps to reproduce:
  • Add keyfob to zwave network (include secure)
  • Check if the keyfob is added and visible in the hardware list
  • Goto the device list and push all the buttons on the keyfob
  • Check for new and unused switches
According to various articles and forum posts the steps above should create the switches. However it does not work for me and others are experiencing the same. At least it does not seem to work with the latest version i've just compiled from source this evening. Is this a bug submit candidate or am I doing something wrong?

Also did the "Accept new Hardware Devices" trick suggested by @gizmocuz at https://github.com/domoticz/domoticz/issues/2243. Also tried to "Learn Light/Switch" in the switches list but no luck either. Including and excluding the fob in and out the zwave network works just fine. Its just a problem with creating the switches themselves

After playing around with some debug settings I found the following when clicking on one of the buttons on the keyfob (each line after one press and after a short timeout of +/- 5 seconds):
2018-06-20 01:07:18.307 Error, Node040, ERROR: ZW_SEND_DATA could not be delivered to Z-Wave stack
2018-06-20 01:07:25.590 Error, Node040, ERROR: Dropping command, expected response not received after 1 attempt(s)
Exclude and include proces captured:

2018-06-20 01:17:26.234 OpenZWave: Value_Added: Node: 41 (0x29), CommandClass: BATTERY, Label: Battery Level, Instance: 1
From here on I was pushing the individual buttons on the fob.

On my side, they were added flawlessly (with last stable) but only after pressing switches once after full inclusion was done.

Take care that if parameters tells switches to trigger for double/triple clic, they will only do so with the right action! If needed, change this & force device wake-up (pressing O and +).

I runned into other problems with theses modules, but probably because z-wave meshed nature was not specified with moving devices in mind:

So, don't even think of controlling your alarm activation or garage door from the outside with this device. I'll for sure not buy another one!
