@mrinner,

I will try to run the plugins that crash for you on my Windows dev machine to see if I can get an error.

Your plugins seem to be using the framework properly so it doesn't look like a coding issue.

I don't get these crashes which makes it hard to debug, my main home systems has been up for 19 days running 8 plugins that use the built in connection functionality on a Stretch RPi3. I build from source which seems to work much better than the pre-built betas. The betas aren't built by Travis so I can't look at the details of that build.

Are you building from source? If not can you try it?

@EdwinK,

Your problem is different. Domoticz is not finding Python on your system at all so the plugin system is not running.

I see alot of these on my Windows 10, using domoticz 3.8153.
Having a hard time figuring out the cause, but seems to be something with Python.
I dont use any Python scripts.

Same issue here. After updating to the latest Beta and using Python plugins, Domoticz crashes (Domoticz received fatal signal 11)
Sometimes right after startup, sometimes after a few hours.

I was using plugins:
- Buienradar Weather Lookup Plugin
- Battery Level for Z-Wave Devices Plugin

To find out if it was a problem of the plugins I've installed a new instance (latest beta) of Domoticz on a fresh SD Card.
Installed Buienradar plugin --> problem occurs

New fresh install
Installed Battery Level plugin --> problem occurs

Going back to latest stable release and removing the plugins, no problems.
So it looks like the problems are plugin functionality in the Domoticz beta related.

In all my plugins I use native Domoticz.Connection(...protocol='None'....). DZ crashes after new msg received...Maybe you know what it can be?

Sorry for replying so late.

I can run python from terminal

Code: Select all

[email protected]:/var/scripts $ python GRIP.py
No alerts were pushed
[email protected]:/var/scripts $
So I thought Python is installed. :confused:

Is there an easy way to fix this?

I'm also having the same problems. If i try to run python plugins with beta versions, the system will crash at system startup, resulting in fatal error. When using the latest stable version, there are no issues with the plugins. I'm using rasbian stretch.

Hi,

to find out what can be the problem it would be helpful:

- what Domoticz version number and what OS (Jessie/Stretch) - with or without latest system upgrades
- what plugin will cause in crash (fatal signal 11)
(if your own plugin - reduce the code to a few lines, for findng out the crash reason)

OR:

If you using the python *event* system (instead of Blockly/Lua...) - please post your code.
BTW: the sample code for python events have an error inside - in result Domoticz will crash.

HI Micha_pr,

I still encounter these domoticz fatal signal 11 aborts with every Beta version I tried since v3.8627 , that I got using the ./updatebeta script (and I tried a lot of them :D )
When I compile from source I don't see this behaviour.

Have you tried to disable all the plugins and enable step by step - to find out what plugin make the problem?

@micha_pr,

yes I did. If I disable all of them domoticz runs without any problem.
When I enable any of my plugins domoticz fails.

I've the same problem.

- Hardware: RPI2
- Domoticz: Latest Stable version
- Plugins: After updating to the latest beta, system crash within 10 minutes with Domoticz received fatal signal 11
When I disable and delete al the plugins, the problem still exists!
Going back to latest Stable version, system gets stable again.

Yesterday I did a new installation of Domoticz by compiling the latest Beta myself.
System crash after 1 minute, without any Plugin installed.

I cannot explain what the reason is, but it's not nice.
I like the run the beta because of the plugins and the latest Aurora theme (needs beta).
