Using two RPI's makes Domoticz lag

Post by Eddiever » Saturday 28 October 2017 12:03

I have Domoticz, 3.8153, running on a RPI 2. Works fine. I have a second RPI (version 3) connected to my smartmeter (with the same version of Domoticz). But if I connect this one Domoticz works fine for a few minutes. After that it slows down so that it doesn't respond at all. I get a time out in my browser. If I disconnect the RPI 3 (power it down) Domoticz starts to respond through my browser but not optimal. If I reboot my RPI2 everything works fine (still a powered down RPI3).

I think it has something to do with the 10 seconds update from my smartmeter RPI3. But I don't know how to fix this. I don't even know for sure that this is the issue. Anybody out here have a solution for me?

I have a different setup but maybe with same problem that is solved some time ago with beta release:

Raspi as main system >
Win10 PC with S0 meter USB.

Raspi on 3.8153, Win10 on 3.8153 > Did not work / web browser not responding so I reverted Win10 back to previous (beta) version:
Raspi on 3.8153, Win10 on 3.xxxx (not sure which version) > Working OK.
So the "slave" / remote server system seemed to be the problem.

At this moment I have:
Raspi on 3.8651, Win10 on 3.8631 > Working OK, no problems with freezing/not responding Raspi.

So if you have some spare SD card for backup and want to do the effort to update to latest beta I suggest you try to update the second Raspi to latest beta and find out if that solves the problem. I suspect second Raspi is a bare/basic installation so if you mess up reinstallation will not be a big effort (?)
