Temperature sensors

Post by tukestolo » Friday 18 May 2018 9:56

Hello guys !!
Can some one help, to understand why in the api when I select a room, I cannot get the temperature sensores ?
Why we need to make a different request only for temperature sensors ?

It make sense that the information came from room devices, no ?
Thanks,
Pedro Oliveira.

if you mean the API calls below can you please explain what you would expect differently ?

http://nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:nnnn/json.htm?type=plans&order=name&used=true -- To get all rooms
http://nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:nnnn/json.htm?type=command&param=getplandevices&idx=yy -- To get all devices in room with idx yy
Raspberry (debian stretch via berryboot on Synology DS916+) , Domoticz (almost) latest Beta, , dzVents 2.6, RFLink, RFXtrx433e, P1, Youless, Harmony, Hue, Yeelight, Xiaomi, HomeWizard, Zwave, Amazon echo

I

if I am not wrong, when you get all devices of a room, the temperature idx is not the same of the real temperature idx to get status.
Have you try it ?

So my house has a number of zones and as vast majority of homes in the US there are zones that have a number of rooms controlled by one thermostat either in the corridor or in one of the rooms - pretty much every house I have seen has that setup. The problem with this is that depending on how the house is built some of the rooms are on the sunny side some are on the shady side and that changes throughout the days and seasons - the end result being that some rooms are always too hot and some are too cold. The thermostat measures the temperature of its location and makes it comfortable on the spot regardless of what happens in the other rooms - for illustrative purposes only, if the room is sunny and warm the thermostat will not turn on the heat even though the shady rooms are too cold... The common sense solution to this issue is remote sensors and a smart thermostat that averages the temperatures across all the remote sensors so that eventually the temperatures of all the rooms stabilize.
