@waaren

Clearing of Browsercache was already tried in vain:
therefore my question.

Thanks for the hint to appcache, which was effective.

Back in business, :-( although with loss of data, because of an older database-file for restore .......

Today on my Raspberry B+ with version V3.8153 'repair' of precipatation-info was not possible [= taking out 'strange' values by indicating through Shift+MouseLeft]
Also backup of database was refused.
Upgrade to latest Beta-release and restore of latest available database-file seemde OK, till I selected the subpage 'Weather'.
Is totally corrupt: all widgets on that page have same 'nonsens'-layout.

Somebody an idea how to restore to 'normal' layout?
A lot of the problems users experience after a domoticz update are gone when the browsercache and appcache are cleared. There are also quite a number of posts on this forum related to these kind of problems.

To summarize and sorted from little effort to a bit more effort take these steps and check after each step if it address the issues you encounter.

- clear browser cache and appcache
Chrome: chrome://appcache-internals/#
Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/storage

- in www/js look for domoticz.js.gz, if its there remove it, (KEEP domoticz.js !! )
- use incognito mode using
Chrome [control] [shift] n
Firefox: [control] [shift] p

- restart domoticz
- rename the location of the original installation and install the new version to an empty target directory. Next copy database and scripts from the old location and fire it up.

Hope this will also solve your problem.
Can this be pinned (if not already) if not already in the forum and Wiki? I did know the trick about Chrome but no idea abut the js.gz trick. Saw it by chance.

It would be good if it is so where easier to see for next time as I’m sure I’ll forget where I saw Wareen’s instructions :D

Is there any ETA for the next stable release? I have three new Philips HUE lamps that I can't add to Domoticz > Devices. One of them is a multicolor bulb that I want to use for halloween in combination with a Z-wave PIR sensor. It would be nice to know if I would have to search for a work-around or if I should have a little bit more patience so I can use my Domoticz setup in time.

Question: Do this stable version share the same database version than 4.9980 beta?

So a downgrade would be possible?

Hi. On the Wake-on-LAN hardware, I create a new node with a MAC address. Previously (before updating) a new light/switch was automatically created. Several of them I already an uses.
Now it is not possible. The node is created but the light/switch is not created. :(
Where can be a mistake? :?

I did a clean install of Stretch lite. Installed the latest version of Domoticz and restored a backup of the Domoticz database as described on page 1 of this post and it works perfect. No issues after two weeks.

Checked out the database compatibility, short answer: NOPE

This stable does not eat the backup file from beta, nor does it accept a copy of the .db file. It results to a complete ignore, emptied devices at all and full amnesia.
Don't see the idea why a SQL database must be incompatible as feature

In settings must be allowed to add new devices!
Same is for Pinger.
It's good? :?
In the previous version I turned it off and Pinger and WOL added.

Version 4.9700 introduced support of new I2C pins expander. Outputs works fine, but how to use MCP23017 as inputs ?
During review of source code I noticed what inputs are not implemented - it is true or I'm just looking in a wrong place ?

(Sorry this should have been posted in the "Bugs and Problems. Please move if appropriate)
I am having a problem getting restores to work on my Raspberry Pi. Every time I try and do a restore (any of the db's in the backup folder) it either crashes or hangs Domoticz and when restarting Domoticz all I get is the message that nothing has been setup. Luckily I have one backup I saved via my windows browser, but it is about 2 weeks old, but seems to work fine.

My concern is, are the backups that are being saved on the Pi are getting corrupted somehow. I am running V4.9700 and have auto backups enabled. There are a lot of backup db's (they are all from v4.9700) in the backup folder on the Pi, but I can't get any of them to work on a restore (i.e. Hourly, Daily or Monthly.)

Domoticz is currently working fine for now, but I'm worried that if I do need a complete restore in the future, it won't work.

Thanks for any info.

Just out of curiousity. The original anouncement mentioned the plan to do monthly releases. I think that is a bit ambitious to jump into right away. But half-yearly or quarterly releases would be nice. Is there already a rampup to a new release?

Also, Is there a forum for the "hardcore" developers, where the current work is discussed? And where would-be contribors can read up on the thoughts and plans of the development team before jumping in?

Regards,

Bert
