A little bit of CSS polish..

I created a CSS file that modifies the Domoticz visual design a bit: Dashboard: http://www.pineapplejazz.com/public/domoticz/css/css-polish-dashboard.png Switches: http://www.pineapplejazz.com/public/domoticz/css/css-polish-switches.png Setup: http://www.pineapplejazz.com/public/domoticz/css/css-pol...

I agree wholly, although so far I purposefully didn't want to go too far overboard. I've added a thing-detail page that hints at this functionality.

I'm not a Homey user actually, although I do respect what they built.

So I redesigned Domoticz from a usability perspective..

As I learnt more about Domoticz, I found that lots of people like me had trouble with the current user experience. As a UX designer I decided to invest some time into thinking about how the experience could be improved. The goals were: - Make it more tablet and beginner friendly. - Bring Domoticz st...

Re: Geofence for Domoticz

Interesting. I tried the app again, but it doesn't seem to offer an option that only uses cell-towers? And it still requires location permission when I install it. Are you planning on making a new app that works with celltowers only by any chance? I recently started using an Android app called WiFiT...

Re: Reacticz dashboard: no install, no hassle

@ptitneo: but I can't access the folder of Domoticz on my Synology. Well, not normally anyway. I know I can get root and make it visible somehow. But I tried it before and it didn't work. I'm just curious about all the steps on Synology, from beginning till end. Probably something like: - Get access...

How can I best install this on the Synology version of Domoticz? Is it even possible?

Re: How to update RFLink firmware

If you own a Mac, then installing is a bit of a search at the moment. Is it possible to add the explanation on how to do it to this topic start, or even add it to the RFLink website? On OS X you can do it as follows: Download the Arduino App from https://www.arduino.cc and install it. Open a termina...

MySensors now has official Raspberry Pi support

The MySensors project dropped a great update just before the new year, and can now officially be run on the Raspberry Pi. In this thread it is also mentioned that MySensors and Domoticz can run on the same Raspberry Pi : https://forum.mysensors.org/topic/4803/building-a-raspberry-pi-gateway/2 Are th...

Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring through Domoticz?

Internet connected smart meters share your total electricity usage with your power company. What most people don't realize is that by tracking this simple variable over time, energy companies can actually deduce which devices you own and use. It's called "Non-instrusive Load Monitoring" or "Power Di...

Re: Geofence for Domoticz

While I can respect that, I don't agree that this this is asking to re-create Google's system. The whole point of my proposal is that it is relatively simple. - It just uses cell towers. - It doesn't even look at their signal strength. It just counts the amount of 'home' ones that are around. In the...

Yes, but the whole point is to not use Google's services in order to protect privacy. I wrote a longer version of the same feature request here:

Cloudless thermostats - more secure and private

There are a lot of good reasons to want a thermostat that doesn't connect to the cloud. - Money. You may not want to pay monthly subscription fees. - Security. Already the Nest was been offline multiple times, leaving people cold. Thermostat ransomware has also become a real thing. - Privacy. Data a...

Re: RFLink: List of supported devices

This list is really useful for checking if a device that you have found online is compatible with RFLink. But it would be useful if it would also work the other way around: that once I have chosen to go with RFLink, I can use this list as a startingpoint to find compatible devices for my needs. For ...
