Re: OpenZWave: Received timeout notification

I don't have timeouts during the day. But only when i reboot the Pi i see timeouts when the Aeotec is initialized. Hello, Try to look at this setup, leading to a problem I had at the very beginning with Domoticz. In my case, not true com problems but linked to my setup at the time: I only had devic...

Re: Fibaro Motion Sensor. Added not added

Do you think it is possible that Fibaro *.xml files are not updated? Is there any better way to update them automatically rather than edit them? Even an unsupported device (no xml) will show it's IDs, because this is these IDs that are used to choose the right xml file for the right device, using m...

Re: Log shows double events

Many thanks for your advise. I have succesfully excluded, resetted, and included the device again. unfortunately this doesnt seem to be the cure. If you try to operate device closer from controller, you can see if you still have multiple events. If it's not the case, you have range thus communicati...

Re: Fibaro Motion Sensor. Added not added

Node is in all cases is 0x0000 Type the same IDs zeroed usually means inclusion was not done correctly. I had this problem with some chinese PIRs from Neo-coolcam: I have a z-stick gen5 controller that can be unplugged & used standalone for inclusions, but these devices could not be correctly inclu...

Re: Outdoor Z-wave PIR

In Germany the Company „Steinel“ is New to z-Wave. They are Known for Lights and Sensors. They sell a IS-140 2 PIR. I have no experience with it. Hello, No experience with this one as well, but ability to control an external light (as non z-wave version) directly (relay included) + reporting moveme...

Re: "Include node secure" vs "include node"

Hello, I have 3 of theses sensors, securely included. Experienced problems on last 2 I installed a few weeks ago (1st was running OK since about 18 months, protecting my garage side pedestrian door opening using the switch as well as front car one using PIR). In fact, they now run well after a re-in...

Re: Notification on incorrect login

Apologies for bumping up an old topic, but is it possible to get some notification if there is a succesfull login, or a few failed attempts? Any ideas about this? Would be great if it is an out-of-the-box feature and not with tools which are not user friendly like Fail2ban) I must admit that, havin...

Re: Outdoor Z-wave PIR

I am also looking for a Z-wave PIR for outdoor use. I have a Fibaro "eye", not designed for outdoor but not exposed to rain (under a roof extension over font access door): This one is a no brainer and sensitivity can be tuned for animals compatibility etc... Proved OK since 18 months. On the back, ...

Re: Log shows double events

Do you already have a solution for this? Message was quite old... Do not own this module, but double events can be triggered by a module malfunction/bug, but also a bad/incomplete inclusion (leading to module misconfiguration). As well as zwave communication problems (messages that are not acknowle...

Re: RPi SD card duplicate

Yes Phil I removed the sd card from the rpi and made a copy of it with Disk Utility app on my mac. Save it in DVD/CD master Format and change the .cdr extension to .iso Then an empty sd card writing the image with Etcher. But it does not work yet, no communication possible with the rpi. It is for s...

Re: DNS filtering for childs...

You don't change a working system, you install a new one. pfSense requires a dedicated device as it can only be installed from an image. I run it on top of ProxMox on a Intel Nuc. My domoticz runs in a separate VM. OK, so no regrets to have: For now, the only always-on machine I have is the PI host...

Re: DNS filtering for childs...

pfSense is so much more than just a firewall. It also provides DHCP, DNS, several VPN services. For security I added the pfBlockerNG packages wich allows to grab blacklist for the DNS resolver and add's GeoIP database to the firewall. That's the "problem" of solutions that integrates many features ...

Re: DNS filtering for childs...

With pfSense or Pihole you could combine this. Set your own set of filters and use OpenDNS as DNS server. Think it should be pretty safe then ;) pfSense is supposed to be a FW... So not a filtering domain stuff. PiHole, I didn't know about it and discovered it's existence with this thread... But ev...

Re: Qubino smart meter

I have it udated to the latest beta and the result i the same, so you have no issues with the stable release? I had issues with previous stable & updated device xml description file used by ozw. No issues after this (only on relay control from domoticz that required an unclean, but functional, hack...

Re: DNS filtering for childs...

Alternatively you can use OpenDNS, and have it block certain categories, like adult sites. I tried it... but it was not blocking some sites domains that looks popular in college playgrounds: So I'm not confident at all with openDNS categories blocking. Anyway, if I do not use the DNS from my intern...

Pihole mainly targets on blocking ads. I run pfsense with pfblocker and you can block all kinds of categories like adult, gambling,... DNS filtering for childs...

Not really related to Domoticz... But a machine running 24/7 can be used for side-jobs! My childs now have their own computer and I didn't wanted them to be able to make their sexual education on the net or being able to visit (intended or not, redirections can sometimes be surprising) violent sites...

Re: Enable lights by motion detection camera

The web interface of the camera is configured when motion is detected, the images are forwarded to an ftp server. Do i have to add a dummy switch and configure the dummy switch with an script or something? Or is this only possible with a real motion detector? On my side, I've a similar setup workin...
