Re: Cheap chinese z-wave products

Well, the good news: they are Z-Wave Alliance certified Problem is this certification only focus on z-wave conformance. This does not cover electric safety and seeing how those plugs are built and user reported failure rates, there is a problem: Only consider battery modules from this manufacturer,...

Re: Possible to install domoticz on a orange pi?

So there is no need for a sdcard as I guess that you could install directly on the eMMC and from what I have been reading the eMMC have some internal wear leveling. SD cards also have some WL... And you can change a SD when it fails. Not a soldered eMMC, even if it should be more reliable than a co...

Re: Logrotate domoticz.log on Synology

I cannot get logrotate properly working, so I tried truncate as "lost" suggested. But, when I execute truncate -s 0 on the domoticz logfile, it deletes the content of the file, but the size of the file does not getting smaller. It contains empty space. I suppose this this is because domoticz is wri...

Re: Logrotate domoticz.log on Synology

It creates a file called: domoticz.log.1.xz. There also appears a new domoticz.log, but that file remains empty. Probably because Domoticz always have the file open for writes and does not handle signal sent by logrotate used to tell the process to close current/reopen a new log file. On my side, f...

Re: Enable / Disable all events in a switch planning alltogether

You'll have to re-run your bash buildup script + all the post buildup edit every time you modify a schedule That's something that can be run on a cron schedule every 5 minutes or so... I can also put a single line in the perl to always exclude certain idx numbers so it's trivial to avoid ...

Re: Wifi IP Camera moving detection > snapshot

Just create a perl/python/bash script, not that hard to send an encrypted picture quickly. I already did some scripting to send images resulting from movement detections (that goes on a PI FTP), in an archive with passwd, by 10s time slices. It also interfaces with the Domoticz Lua alarm scripts wh...

Re: Wifi IP Camera moving detection > snapshot

you can create additional snapshots that Domoticz will email to you instantly. Could have done this... But Domoticz does not allow some way to encrypt emailed images! Probably I'm a bit paranoid, but I don't want to send unencrypted images of my home to an external mail provider. And sending the im...

Re: Wifi IP Camera moving detection > snapshot

There must be a simpler way to achieve this. Can the firmware of such camera's be tweaked is way?... I don't think this would be a simpler way. Lot's of IP cams firmwares are free software based and "contaminated" with GPL so manufacturers have to provide their source code. But usually it's just a ...

Re: Enable / Disable all events in a switch planning alltogether

I wrote a perl script that you can run once to automatically generate a bash script that you can then use in Domoticz to bulk enable/disable your timer schedules. It uses LWP::UserAgent to query Domoticz idx values for timer schedules and builds a bash file with the results. You can edit that file ...

Re: New brand for cheap z-wave+ products...

This (new?) site is back online. The z-wave+ door contact is at 19.9€, wall plug at 29.9€, motion at 24.9 + a few other for smoke/CO... Anyone finally knows about these modules? Cannot find any documentation to be able to make the z-wave xml conf files, as the brand does not seems to be supported by...

Re: Philio PST02-A 4 in 1 Multi-Sensor doesn't work properly

I have exactly the same device: Philio PST02-A The motion sensor however is not working and is displayed as a on/off. Maybe I have to play with the sensitivity settings to actually get the good motion detection I want (distance versus sensitivity). It should work with default settings, I think it's...

Re: cURL(ing) using Name vs IDX

Would be nice/cleaner if the internal dom code would accept "idx=" or "name=" or whatever. In fact, implementation of JSON API looks sometimes a bit heterogenous! See user variables related API: getuservariable -> IDX required, updateuservariable -> NAME required. So if you need to read then update...

Re: Wifi IP Camera moving detection > snapshot

Found the Foscam R4. 2K video and 4K pictures. Hope it's supported bij Domoticz but I reckon this is pretty straight forward. Take care that getting the snapshots resulting from movement detection in domoticz may not be so easy, as this looks to be what you want. Even if the cam provides a snapshot...

Re: presence detection script LUA or System Alive Checker

You only need to know the MAC of your bluetooth device, it doesn't have to be paired with you Pi. The problem is you advertise some known BT MACs all the time, when checking for presence. And that's easy to monitor and a clever thief checking all your radio devices from the outside (to know about y...

I ordered 2, they are zwave+ version... And in fact, they specify this is the version that conforms to french regulations. 1st, z-wave not+, alarm sound was not loud enough.
