Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

But how would you achieve that without walking around with a remote control in the dark?!

Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

Bit of a thread bump to revisit this.... I've had my tablet on the wall for months now, working great with motion detector and irule, but has anyone managed to solve the issue of the motion detector not working when ambient light levels are low or non existent? If I walk past it at night in the dark...

Re: Control Domoticz using Harmony Hub and HA Bridge

just found this thread shortly after finding HA Bridge. I've installed and got it working, although my harmony is not arriving until later today. But its all working with a test device and the software is great. This will literally bridge the gap between many disparate pieces. I went with Harmony du...

Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

hmmm, not sure why it's not working. Did you set the camera in motion detector to be the front camera, not the back? And in the plugin, you should only need to press the button to turn it on or off. Everything else in motion detector are settings to adjust sensitivity etc. (You might need to turn on...

Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

Ok my dropbox is not working properly, so here is the link to the other place I downloaded it from, someone else's dropbox. I hope they don't mind me reposting.

Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

Just a quick resurrection of this thread. I've found a plugin written by the developer of Motion Detector, for the app itself that is specifically designed to turn the screen on with motion, without having to mess around with profiles in Tasker, in fact don't need to use Tasker at all unless you nee...

Re: What's the latest with Nest

I'm still struggling with this. I have an event set to turn lights on when the nest is triggered but setting the alarm off doesn't do anything in Domoticz. This worked fine with my old Fibaro smoke detector but that thing was useless at waking us up.

Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

I'm sure on mine i just disabled it in the security option, where you set passcode and so on, i think i just turned off the lock screen, nothing more than that if i remember correctly, however I am using a CM Build of Android, not the standard Kindle build.

Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

i use command fusion and demopad to create custom remote interfaces, they are on all my iPad/android remotes around the house. I do find that the motion detector is temperamental, i find it responds a lot to changes in light level that comes in through the window, so it can come on randomly, though ...

No I don't use imperihome, and no it turns off the screen fully, not just go blank.

Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

Tried that but it's at the highest and no difference. If there is barely any light in the room then that won't work.

If I could touch to wake it would be OK. But can't work out how to do that

Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

I've found one problem so far. The motion detector doesn't work once the light in the room goes below a certain level, as the camera can't pick out any movement as all it sees is black. Im not sure how to get round this. I would like to be able to tap the screen to wake up the tablet but I'm not sur...

Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

yeah for me the frame is ok. Obviously, i would like to have it as sleek as possible but the frame works fine, especially due to the location of the tablet in my house. I would have loved to get something like a habitech flow 7 custom made aluminium mount for a nexus 7 which has POE built in but the...

Re: Wall Mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

That looks interesting though wouldn't you see the cable coming out the tablet? Plus how would you power the charger anyway? I like my solution as it works because I have cable in the wall but it definitely looks like a good option

Re: Wall mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

I have one of those, Amazon sells them for a few quid. Although I found that a 90 degree cable was better to fit in the frame.

Re: Wall mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

If it wasn't clear, the POE switch is in my AV rack upstairs, the cat6 cable runs throughout the house and into the walls and comes into various back boxes around the house where I thought I'd need panels.

Re: Wall mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

I will do when I get a chance. The power is provided by a POE switch and in the back box behind the frame there is a POE to 5v converter that I hacked together by taking apart something i bought off the shelf. I'm in talks with a manufacturer to make me a smaller unit that will fit inside the back b...

Re: Wall mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

The dimensions from memory are 115x192. These are the standard dimensions found on the amazon fire specs. The depth of the frame is around 20mm i think but i could have got away with smaller. The width of each edge of the frame is 30mm which is needed to carve out enough space for the USB plug but i...

Re: Wall mount Tablet - Amazon Fire £50

i had a custom made picture frame made online with the dimensions of the tablet. I picked one that would be deep enough to enclose the tablet and had a thick enough border to chisel out a section for the USB plug, then i used Command strips to attach it to the wall (might change them as they leave a...
