Re: Switch Selector Name Length

You can add level with one character by entering e.g. "1 " (that is, 1 followed by a space). Domoticz will then allow you to save it, but the space does not remain in the actual level name (at least the event system sees it as "1").

Re: Event for Christmas

My apologies for not being clear. I had assumed you had found a solution for Switchibg on a particular date. Or 24/12. Unless I have an issue I can only select day of the week or such things under my timer section In the "Type" drop-down menu you should have plenty of options, e.g. "Yearly" where y...

Re: Outdoor wall plug for low temps?

Just a word of warning... I've had two of these Z-wave.me plugs, and they've both failed on me after a couple of years. They're no longer available from the Dutch retailer I bought them from, and when I asked why, I was told because the failure rate was too high on them. Oops, sounds bad. Mine have...

Re: Outdoor wall plug for low temps?

Thanks for the info Nautilus! I live in northern Finland :D I've actually been looking that same Z-wave.me adapter but haven't been brave enough to buy and test if it works, great to know it does work. Was it hard to get working or just plug and play? That door contact in mailbox is a great idea :i...

One remark: You can only control the Hub's scenes. It is not possible f.i. to directly change the channel from Domoticz.
To send individual device commands you can add selector switches and assign up to ten commands to each switch e.g. via https://github.com/sushilks/harmonyHubCLI/

Re: Outdoor wall plug for low temps?

Have been using two of these for two winters now: https://www.verkkokauppa.com/fi/product/62965/ggkkt/Z-Wave-Me-064381-hallittava-pistorasia-ulkokayttoon (sorry for the Finnish in that link, I didn't find them anymore in the store I originally bought them from: https://www.yakodo.de/ Back then the p...

Re: How to do better programming?

dzVents is basically one master script returning one commandArray. Yes, but if I've understood correctly there are several additional features built on top of it if compared to "traditional" Lua in Domoticz context. How these might affect the performance is a mystery to me, maybe not at all or have...

Re: How to do better programming?

For the original question, please remember that "script_devicename.lua" is only executed for the specific device. In many cases that might not be enough. Also, as mentioned here by others, it will slow down your system a bit (increase CPU usage) the more you have these. I have not tried dZvents (*) ...

Re: Lua : how to read and update a text device?

I am able to use quite long strings (e.g. google map link to a specific location with additional address text), but there's been some issues I guess: viewtopic.php?t=18822

Re: JSON URL to update on/off action field of a switch

As for the original question, did you check the network tab in the developer mode when updating? I get this: http://ip:port/json.htm?type=setused&idx=IDX&name=NAME&description=&strparam1=c2NyaXB0Oi8vL3Rlc3Q=&strparam2=&protected=false&switchtype=0&customimage=0&used=true&addjvalue=0&addjvalue2=0&opt...

Re: Lua : how to read and update a text device?

Seems you've had a small misunderstanding here. The format refers to the general "UpdateDevice" syntax: To modify an otherdevice value, you should use commandArray['UpdateDevice']='idx|nValue|sValue' where idx is the device index, nValue and sValue the values to modify (see json page for details - D...

Re: What's a scene? What's a Group?

On the group vs scene thing, groups are on/off type actions whereas scenes have additional parameters such as dimming, RGBW color, blinds tilt, music volume, etc. More an 'analog' world than a 'digital' world, as it were  Actually, you can set the dim level and RGB color to a group as well...

Re: os.execute.aftersec

This should be enough when you don't need the separate sleep command:

Code: Select all

os.execute('curl -s "http://127.0.0.1:8081/json.htm?type=command&param=setcolbrightnessvalue&idx=3&hue=18&brightness=50&iswhite=false" &')

Re: Lux sensor triggers all "If else" but should only trigger one

Unfortunately nested if's do not work and with "else if" the conditions must be set so that all of them mutually exclude each other, otherwise all matching condition are executed even if a prior condition matches. See e.g. http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16946&p=153470&hilit=nested...

Hmm, could the underlying cause be the same as here: http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=20325?

Does it say anything in the logs after applying?

Re: CPU usage after migrating RPi2 Wheezy to RPi3 Stretch

After removing mosquitto from systemctl things are (at least close) back to normal. The CPU usage is now pretty much on the same level as with RPi2, but I guess there shouldn't be any kind of big effect in any case. Probably there is still something (newer OS, newer Domoticz version, newer versions ...

Re: CPU usage after migrating RPi2 Wheezy to RPi3 Stretch

Do you run Domoticz beta? If not then try the Beta and see if it helps. I say this because Domoticz stable doesn't support Stretch while beta does. Could be compatible issue or if you fiddled with Stretch it also could be a services issue. As systemd-journal and dbus-daemon are trying something wit...

Re: CPU usage after migrating RPi2 Wheezy to RPi3 Stretch

CPU in my Pi3 with a lot of Lua/bash/python script has the following stats: Avg: 0.48 High: 1.51 Low: 0.25 Clearly your migration went tits up. Something is keeping your Pi3 busy. Did you just put your SD from the Pi2 into the Pi3? If so, did you try a fresh OS installation with Domoticz to see if ...

Re: Unable to enable Dzvents in Setup->Settings->Other

Well yes, actually I was also able to get a check back to dZvents by changing theme / emptying appcache and cache but at that point it did not reflect the actual status anymore. So dZvents was enabled even though the box was checked for disabling it and normal event were disabled even though the box...

Re: Unable to enable Dzvents in Setup->Settings->Other

I faced the same issue today, tried with both elemental and default themes (after clearing cache and appcache). Eventually I had to modify the database to enable the event system again. I tried with a few days old beta first, then updated to 3.8734 and tried again but no luck. No errors visible in t...
