Re: Sonoff(Tasmota) status not same as in Domoticz

The best solution would be separate 'mqtt virtual hardware': a new status would only be set after an acknowledgement from the device itself.

Re: dzVents version of the Solar Data Script

I decided to finaly replace the old LUA version of the script by the DzVents version. I copied the script from the initial post and came across these errors: line 207: if(sinAzimuth local sunstrokeDuration = math.deg(2/15 * math.acos(- math.tan(math.rad(latitude)) * math.tan(math.rad(declination))))...

Re: How to deal with randomly failed commands?

The sonoff devices do report their updated status, at least, when Tasmota is used. I wish it was implemented within domoticz that the status is only updated on the ack. command and not on the publish command.

Re: garbage collector HVC into sensors with dzVents?

I use also Dashticz and there they have defined options to display data for many different garbage companies, including hvc. I wouldn't know how to transform that for use in domoticz directly.

Re: Domoticz DS18B20 and solid state relays on PC

I used a pi1b for 2 years. It is fast enough to run domoticz. Please have a look on the wiki page how to enable logging in domoticz. When your pi is still up after a crash, you can see why domoticz crashed on you. Since it is domoticz crashing, it possibly will do the same on a pc?

Re: I don't know why it doesn't work

@waaren, I based my comment on the initial scripts. Now I see in your suggested improved script (which I think is much better in this situation) that you used the 'trigger' in your script as intended.

Re: dzVents version of the Solar Data Script

@ waaren Thank you for your quick answer and the link. I'll do my best to try to understand the explanation and to create a dzvents event in domoticz but i am not a programmer at all  All other parameters in the wuSettings file have been entered as asked. I also wasn't a programmer, but... Jus...

 Thanks a lot Waaren. It is working exactly how I wanted. What is the difference between: execute = function(domoticz, trigger) and execute = function(domoticz, Device)? Thanks again. Re: Domoticz DS18B20 and solid state relays on PC

Quite a step to move to such overrated hardware to hopefully avoid a software error. Crashing every month is not normal. Have you been able to review the log of domoticz? Is the rpi crashing, or just domoticz? As an intermediate solution, you can always add a Cron job to reboot your pi once a day at...

I assume you use the built in version for the Onkyo? That is not the same (topic) as this Python version.

Re: LUA – Virtual Solar Battery: simulate the presence of a battery for storing harvested solar energy

Awesome idea :O I dont have a P1 meter, but have 3 solar panels and a SDM120 MODBUS that gives me negative values when im sending energy to the grid. Can you make a version of your script where it gets the information from the SDM120 dummy device (that has positive and negative values) and sends on...

Simply add your json command to the on command (edit) of a virtual switch that you can create yourself

Re: cheap(er) p1-to-USB cable for smart meter (looking for a ...)

I have the smart meter connected through the gpio of the rpi. That is about free, besides 1 resistor. My colleague built it for me into a little network cable extension block (female-female), so I was able to use 2 regular telephone cables and easy disconnect the gpio to take the rpi out of the cabi...

Re: Python Plugin: Smart Virtual Thermostat

The plugin saves the « learning » in a dedicated user variable that it creates. Interesting, I'll have a look. I was not aware that a uservariable could be created . Thanks You can't create it, but you can 'modify' it, if you know what you're dining. Worst case you simply delete the content and let...

At 'active = false,' the script is still monitored for errors

For a new script I always put the script inactive. But at 'active = false,' the script is still monitored for errors. This spams the log in a very high frequency.

It would be nice when this checking could be done in a third state: true, false, test (or debug)

Re: Use string to get defined variable

@waaren, thanks for this example script. You put a lot of work in it. I find it quite difficult to grasp the steps in your script, but I think I will just need to implement it and adapt to my original script needs. @dannybloe I wonder if it is really necessary to add all the functions to each script...

Use string to get defined variable

I have declared 5 variables (which define the 5 micro solar inverter devices) like this: local inv1 = domoticz.devices('11000xxx power') local inv2 = domoticz.devices('110007xxx power') local inv3 = domoticz.devices('1100xxx2 power') local inv4 = domoticz.devices('100xxxx9 power') local inv5 = domot...
