Re: PI or NAS

If the Syno runs 24/7 anyway and it isn't one of those cheap models run it there. Otherwise a Pi is a good solution if you keep good backups in case of SD failure. I used both but switched to a Intel Nuc, running Debian in a container on Proxmox. Hasn't ran faster than this before AND it's very easy...

Re: thermostat thoughts

I don’t have a room thermostat anymore. I use Fibaro smoke detectors as thermometer with in combination with virtual setpoints. Result: perfect temperature control in each room :D

See /sys/fs/ext4/<disk>/lifetime_write_kbytes
Thank you for that!
Writing some script to monitor that, dump the data in a sql database and see if I can make some improvements on my systems :)

Re: Read only Raspberry Pi OS to prevent corruption

Seems that a Domoticz system has a lot of writes.
Since I'm running on Proxmox I can see how much data is written to the disk...

Re: Read only Raspberry Pi OS to prevent corruption

Moved to a NUC with proxmox now How're you deal with gpio/i2c and stuff like that? No need to worry about backups anymore. Don't be surprised, HDD/SSD can crash as well :-) I just set a pastrough for my zwave stick and the rfxcom. Hdd can fail, but with proxmox it's very easy to make complete backu...

Nope, didn't know that.
Anyway, my SD card crashed anyway after 2 years. Moved to a NUC with proxmox now. No need to worry about backups anymore.

Re: Pass2PHP

I've seen topics about double actions so I assume it is/was a domoticz issue.
I don't know because I don't update anymore :P

Re: how to get rit of intruders

Fail2ban is the best option, I use it on my web server and on Domoticz.
And as Jos said, use ssl.

Re: Pushing a button multiple times through script

If you can set the dimlevel with a slider in domoticz you don't need to loop 20 times.
In pass2php that would be just:

Code: Select all

sl('dimmer',100);
If you can't use a slider and really need the push buttons that would be:

Code: Select all

for($x=1;$x<=20;$x++)sw('button','On');

Re: Receive signal, do something... possible?

As soon as you have a device for it in Domoticz you can trigger anything you want.
Kaku remotes come as switches so it's not that difficult to do something with them.

Push the data you want to a separate mysql database and you have full control over it.

Decrease time, yes: Change www/app/DashboardController.js around line 1684 $scope.mytimer = $interval(function () { RefreshFavorites(); }, 10000); Time is set in milliseconds. Note: this is only for the Dashboard where the favorites are shown. Note2: Clear your browsers app cache to reload the sourc...

Re: keeping Raspberry PI up-to-date

Even Jessie is already old... Now it's Stretch.
Either you update from Wheezy to Jessie and then to Stretch using apt-get update && apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade
Or you do a clean install of Jessie and restore your Domoticz backup.

I would do it with separate switches :P
What about a group of switches? Could also be a good option.
