Re: Receive signal, do something... possible?

As soon as you have a device for it in Domoticz you can trigger anything you want.
Kaku remotes come as switches so it's not that difficult to do something with them.

Re: statistics/ logs longer than 1 year?

Push the data you want to a separate mysql database and you have full control over it.

Re: 5-10 seconds delay showing change in device

Decrease time, yes: Change www/app/DashboardController.js around line 1684 $scope.mytimer = $interval(function () { RefreshFavorites(); }, 10000); Time is set in milliseconds. Note: this is only for the Dashboard where the favorites are shown. Note2: Clear your browsers app cache to reload the sourc...

Re: keeping Raspberry PI up-to-date

Even Jessie is already old... Now it's Stretch.
Either you update from Wheezy to Jessie and then to Stretch using apt-get update && apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade
Or you do a clean install of Jessie and restore your Domoticz backup.

Re: A way to select one or many items in a list?

I would do it with separate switches :P
What about a group of switches? Could also be a good option.

Normal behavior as the webinterface is only refreshed every 10 seconds.

Re: PHP query into domoticz.db not working

I never stop domoticz when I use Adminer (php based SQL explorer) or if I wan't to clean the database.
Could be that I ran a query once to put the database in a multi user mode, can't remember.

Re: PHP query into domoticz.db not working

The code is functional, so can only be a rights thing. Depends on how you execute the code, from cli or from a webserver? If it's from a webserver you gotta make sure that the users who runs the webserver has execute permissions to the database. Write down the current rights and change them to 777 t...

Re: Back-up historical sensor data and start with fresh install

Nothing wrong with high idx numbers. The database column is set to integer, witch means the limit is 2147483647. Don't think you need to worry any time soon... Anyway, to reply to your question. Make a copy of your current database. Reinstall Domoticz with a clean database, add all your devices. Use...

Re: Z-Wave Network Delay (Traffic/Flooding)

Look at the parameters of each device. Sometimes you'll need to set thel at 0, 255 or 65535 to disable power reports.
Another more advanced method is removing the according lines from the zwave xml file.

Make sure u have user/password authentication enabled. For that, as jannl writes: use https to have your password sent encrypted Set up fail2ban to monitor failed login attempts and block them immediately. But why open ssh from the internet? Do you really need that? Than really don't do that on the ...

Re: Best backup strategy?

The wiki is wrong. Of course you can't use the backup function if you judt stopped domoticz.
I just copy my whole pi with rsync to my nas. Already restored multiple times, never had issues.

Re: Z-Wave Network Delay (Traffic/Flooding)

As you see in your logfile some device don't respect the settings. My devices are all set to have power reporting disabled or at the slowest rate possible. Still my logfile is also quite full with those. You have polling disabled? (only enabled for devices where it's really necessary) You don't have...

Re: Long term history of switches ?

Save it to a SQL database and you're in full control. Domoticz only keeps switch data for the days defined in the settings. Yes, you can raise that, but I promise you your database will grow huge with data that you don't care for. Therefore, better to send the switches you really need long term hist...

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

Because his device looses network connection. It's better to first try if a restart of network avoids the problem than rebooting.
