What does this add that the current support for netatmo in domoticz doesn't already have?

How to monitor your diskhealth with virtual percentage sensors

Hi all, In addition to the very succesful 'How to monitor your internet connection with virtual custom sensors' (see: https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=13814) I was wondering how much I wore down my SSD after a few years of heavy domoticz usage. I really like the graphing...

Re: How to monitor your internet connection with virtual custom sensors

Hi Phoenixblue, Weird that you get errors on 'empty' lines and commented out lines (with the #). My guess would be invisible weird characters as well somehow. Why don't you just paste your created script (local) into nano (remote) in a terminal? That usually works for me. Next to that, what happens ...

Re: Use sensor values in custom notifications Topic is solved

Can i ask what you are using to push messages to you phone? And how did you make the notification. Sure, I use Telegram for notifications (and much more actually). I gathered bits and pieces of how to do that on this forum and the wiki and summarized it here: https://www.safiweb.nl/?p=1133 I usuall...

any way to implement this to "write to log"? I want to log the power usage for my wasingmashine in a better resolution then evry 5 minutes to tweek det on/off script (based on power usage). That can already be done with lua. okey how`? Read the wiki, search the forum, etc. At least try &q...

Re: How to monitor your internet connection with virtual custom sensors

I do have a Pi though :P I use it for the USB P1 Smartmeter (which will influence my test) and running domoticz (idem) and running this test (ditto) :P I believe it's 2nd gen, model B: shitty results with Pi: Ping: 44.949 ms Download: 26.80 Mbits/s Upload: 4.76 Mbits/s proper results with MacMini: P...

Re: How to monitor your internet connection with virtual custom sensors

The results of the screenshots are from an 8-core MacMini, 16Gb RAM and an SSD running Debian Linux (not that it's relevant). I left the RPI-hardware for Domoticz a long time ago because: It's slow (in every way: througput, SSH, running apt-get update annoyed the hell outta me, even switching stuff ...

Re: How to monitor your internet connection with virtual custom sensors

That's probably true, if the RPI shares it's general throughput with the USB-stuff, I'd say yes. If it doesn't have to share, it has more for the ethernet-stuff. But hey, why run it on your pi if that's unreliable? Run it on a machine that can handle your 10/1Mbps for good test results? :) It's easy...

Add the 'friendly' values to event & notification system, good idea?

Hi all, I know I have asked this before, but I really (really) think this is useful. Isn't it valuable to have the 'friendly values' domoticz produces added to the event-stuff and notification-stuff? The Dark Sky 'Sensors' have a 'prediction' (Sunny, Rain, etc) that is useful. Temp/Hum have the 'Dry...

Re: monitor internet connection with virtual sensors

You create a 'Virtual Sensor' of the Sensor Type 'Custom Sensor'.

Re: monitor internet connection with virtual sensors

Doesn't your test result prove that speedtest-cli and the webclient on pc might produce different results then?

Maybe the python script is more efficient then running it in a browser? :)

I would not be surprised if the Raspberry Pi has alot of limitations (CPU, MEM, throughput) that influence your speed. It's not built for speed ;)

And 21.5000ms in Domoticz is 21,5ms in human numbers ... maybe that's why it looks different?

Re: monitor internet connection with virtual sensors

Hi guantolento, This happens when the speedtest command does not get a serverlist (see explaination above). And due to bad programming, I don't do error-checking on that ;) So either install the Python version with pip, or change the url in the package to the right one. speedtest_cli.py is located a...
