Re: Geofence for Domoticz

I changed to basic auth and now it works. Problem is, when I am in my car which has a wifi access point without internet access and I forget to turn of my phone's wifi, domofence sends the correct string but it never arrives at my Domoticz. Isn't it possible to add some sort of check? For instance c...

Re: New install problems

What Ben says. The error explains itself. Some programm is running and using port 8080. Are you sure Domoticz is not already running?

What happens when you enter http://ip-address of your pi:8080/ in a browser before doong the sudo ./domoticz?

Re: Geofence for Domoticz

When I issue that command locally I get an error. Status ERR

Edit: according to the manual a command should be added. When I add for instance switchcmd=Toggle it works. So it seems to me something is wrong in the command

Re: Geofence for Domoticz

Because results with the domoticz app regarding geofence are not so good, I am now trying domofence. However with the same settings as the app (ports, password etc) it does not work. Testing gives an error. I more than triple checked the settings.

I am using an s7 and android 7.0.

Re: Memory Leakage?

And you actually tested that? I mean, I know that if a process allocates memory and does not free it, the system will stop. I am just wondering why that does not happen at my system. I just have a crontab that frees some unused memory regularly and the system runs as long a I let it. edit: actually ...

Re: Memory Leakage?

Wondering....what happens when the memory is "full", does the (or some) garbage collector clean it up? Or does the system actually crash?

Re: Event for Christmas

With lua or so you can check the date and the time to activate an event, should not be that hard.

Re: owner crontab

Not sure, basically it should work after a clean install.
The /var/spool/cron/crontabs is a special directory. Which shows when you do a ls -l in /var/spool/cron

My crontab of user pi
-rw------- pi crontab pi

Re: How to do better programming?

myDevice.updateSetPoint(24) updates which device? That line should look almost the same in lua Anyway, I really looked at dzvents and for simple scripts it even could be better, especially some time scripts Looking at my more complex lua scripts, it doesn't seem that easy to rewrite them and I don't...

Re: owner crontab

Pi crontab is user pi and group crontab. Chmod settings are 600

How do you edit your crontab?

Re: How to do better programming?

If peoples opion is involved it will never be objective....and for that matter, since you mention it, my experience is also 30+ years. But I still think that most people without any programming experience at all more easy understand a small lua program compared to the same code in dzvents. I looked ...

Re: How to do better programming?

First of all, switch to dzVents.. it will significantly reduce the amount of code you write and it's a lot easier and better to read (and documented). I totally do not agree to the part it is better readable. I now use a container script for lua. The issue with lua in Domoticz is the commandarray. ...

Re: Domoticz reboots in 5-minute intervals?

Are you sure there is no input check that creates a logline? I don't no, but debugging on Nix systems normally involves a lot of loglines being examined. I just tried, changed the semicolon back into a comma, and the input was accepted without an error message or log line. I actually meant, do you ...

Re: Cant reach web interface (Raspberry PI)

The updatebeta is a rather recent solution, did not work a few months ago. And I am not sure about installing a jessie library on stretch.
