can I do forEach on a table in global_data?

Hi all, I have a table in global_data that looks like this: harmony = { poweroff = { ['name']='PowerOff', ['índex']=10, ['lightscene']='video' }, television = { ['name']='Televisie', ['índex']=20, ['lightscene']='video' } } it is part of the helpers I can call it with: domoticz.log (domoticz.helpers...

Re: Request for the use of friendly names in addition to device names

in dzvents you can do this by defining this at the top of the execute section: local scriptname = domoticz.devices("dashboardname") Was overthinking this again. Using local vars is not very helpfull. If you have coded device names like PirLivingroom and PirHalway, you want to use filters or wildcar...

Request for the use of friendly names in addition to device names

Hi All, In other platforms I see the use of a "device name" and a "friendly name". The device name can be something like: "VirtualSwitchFoo", where the friendly name can be "Foo switch". This would help using more complex names as the device name for use in scripts, while the dashboard stays readabl...

Re: Updating text through MQTT

Thx @waaren and @D'rMorris for the anwers, however it does not seem to work. I'm also using NodeRed. It creates: {"command":"udevice","idx":229,"svalue":"unknown"} However when pushed to Domoticz/in, nothing happens. I dubble checked the idx twice. For reference, this: {"command":"switchlight","idx"...

Re: Domoticz version 3.8153 released (Stable)

+1 for a new stable version. Current one is getting pretty old now. I also agree with the folks requesting a more structured approach towards releases. No doubt developers and contributers are working hard to bring new features and fixes! Highly respected! But I also think that it should not be forg...

Re: dzVents 'There is no device with that name or id ...'

Hi All, Is this already resolved? And is there a workaround for those running the latest stable (V3.8153) with dzVents 2.2.0. Need to run a script an get this blocking error. Then upgrade to Beta or wait until the next stable release. I dislike beta for the production environment controlling my hou...

Re: dzVents trying to use persistant data with concat variable

I haven't had coffee yet, so l'm at risk here. As far as I can see it is. Let me explane my thinking. prevWifiSwitch takes the values of oldPresence (=prevPresence). It is concatenated with the value of a part of a virtual Switch that is in assetName These are values like Ralph, Anneke. So in the fi...

Re: dzVents trying to use persistant data with concat variable

I guess it should be domoticz.log(prevWifiSwitch) Hi @dannybloe. Thx for yor as always fast answer. However that is not goig to work. It will only log the concat string that is in prevWifiSwitch. So in my case prevPresenceRalph, PrevPresenceAnneke, ect. I need the value of the persistant data varia...

[Solved] dzVents trying to use persistant data with concat variable

Hi all, I need some help on this, I guess my LUA knowledge runs short here. I try to do this: return { active = true, on = { timer = { 'every 1 minutes' } }, data = { prevPresenceRalph = {initial='Off'}, prevPresenceAnneke = {initial='Off'}, prevPresenceKim = {initial='Off'} }, logging = { level= do...

Re: light switch not off with SwitchOn().forMIN(2)

@dannybloe: Maybe a stuppid moment to conclude this, but wasn't checkFirst() also added in 2.3.0. I see this in the log: 2018-01-06 13:54:30.386 Error: dzVents: Error: Presence actions: An error occured when calling event handler presence_V1-0-3 2018-01-06 13:54:30.386 Error: dzVents: Error: Presenc...

Re: light switch not off with SwitchOn().forMIN(2)

I understand your confusion. I was refering to the code i posted yesterday (17:34) the one you kindly corrected. The puzzling part for me is that the command is still send despite the checkfist() after the switchOn(). Afterall, as the switch is on, it should not be send at all imho.

Re: light switch not off with SwitchOn().forMIN(2)

dannybloe: isn't .active not part of V2.3? Like many, i'm running V2.2.

[edit] using .active gives unexpected behaviour in V2.2 not an error, so better be carefull with this :(

Re: light switch not off with SwitchOn().forMIN(2)

@dannybloe: Thx for this. I will give it a go. However, I’m still a bit puzzled about checkfirst(). As I understand it correctly it should work as follows: I have a switch that is in the "on' state. I want to send a switchOn(), but the lamp is already on. So if I do switchOn().checkfirst(), the comm...
