Re: External watchdog best practices

I don't think this is generally a good solution. You need to find out why the NUC is freezing: 1) Is it faulty ram? 2) Motherboard fault? 3) Power supply? 4) Storage failing? 5) Memory leak? 6) CPU maxed out (using NICE values to keep things under control might help here.) 7) Is the NUC connected to...

Guide Apache HTTPS to HTTPS reverse proxy with basic auth

This is an apache "Domoticz.conf" file for /etc/apache2/sites-enabled The purpose is to reverse proxy from https://domoticz:443 unsecured self signed SSL to an Apache2 web server which a signed SSL certificate on a different port (444) in this case. The reverse proxy basic authenticates to Domoticz ...

Anyone tried with the 2.4 branch? Some things got a major update, such as the login screen.
Can confirm that existing script works fine with 2.4.* branch.

Re: Python Event: Email/Pushbullet Question

I would make use of the Domoticz HTTP API to send the notification.

Same as some others: Newly installed stretch on a pi zero. Clean install release version: libssl cannot be found, despite the 1.0.0.2 and 1.1 are installed by default. installed the direct download of 1.0.0.1, running release version Update to beta: error Removed the 1.0.0.1 and reinstalled 1.0.0.2...

Re: New Beta for Linux

I used to use the Linux binary available on the Domoticz update page but started having issues upgrading in the last few months. I've since switched to compiling from source which works well. I wouldn't want to be doing it on a Raspberry Pi due to the CPU performance and long compile times but a cor...

Re: Samsung SmartThings Link - a new Z-Wave and Zigbee USB adapter only $15 on pre-order

Why not just buy a dongle that already works like the Aeotec or z-wave.me UZB, both are only around $80 - $100 anyway...

In Australia thats about the same price as a Smart Switch 6 appliance module so really not very expensive.

Re: Can't get https to work

My suggestion is to simply run a Nginx or Apache reverse proxy to the Domoticz port 8080 (that's how I've always done it).

I keep SSL disabled on Domoticz itself.

Re: Selling The House,What to do with domoticz now??

Anyway, as i said selling a home with "Smart Home" brand is still a plus in some places... I agree I removed everything upon my move. As already mentioned, not all new home owners are interested to pay for these kind of systems. This is true, it's a cost / benefit equation, it cost me about $500 in...

Re: Selling The House,What to do with domoticz now??

I've thought of this problem before, my apartment is 100% automated with Z-Wave on every light switch. My thinking is that I'd buy a Vera Edge, spend a couple of hours setting it up and just hand over the login to the new owner. Then if they have any issues I'd just refer them to contact Vera for su...

Re: New (beta) version library requirement (Arm/Debian)

Update:

I solved the problem by backing up the database in Domoticz, compiling the latest version 3.8423 from scratch and restoring the backup.

Now my system works on the latest version. :D

Re: New (beta) version library requirement (Arm/Debian)

It always crashes during startup with the same error...

Re: Domoticz compatibility with debian 9 stretch

I don't think PHP and MariaDB will impact domoticz, as domoticz does'nt use them. But I tried to use Stretch, and I have this issue at start : /domoticz/domoticz: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory In stretch, libssl is a...

I'm seeing the same thing on Domoticz Linux, I've had Z-Wave lights (and scenes) turning on / off randomly throughout my apartment including in the middle of the night. There is no way the motion sensors are being set off. Can't be bothered to go through the logs right now but I do know this issue w...
