Re: Generate custom charts server side?

One significant side-effect noted for RRDTools in combination with Domoticz, Python etc.: any gap in update of the RRD-database is mercilessly exposed in the graph. ;-) Obviously is correct, but is a problematic aspect e.g. for continuous registration of data from Domoticz. Although your data-source...

Re: Weather station

Most weather stations have an 'inside'-sensor' for temperature, humidity and pressure. Some have that as part of the console, other as separate, wireless sensor at 433MHz or 868MHz, or as a combination of console & separate sensor. In the first and latter case the console's USB-interface (or similar...

Re: split RFLINK to two raspberries

Why so complicated? Peripherals on one USB-hub shared by 2 computers is not a simple thing.
To keep things simple&reliable, just keep them separate and use an RFLink per Raspberry.

Re: Generate custom charts server side?

After further experiments (see e.g. this link ), now the set of lua-script with related sh-files with RRDTool-application is 'Up & Running' at a Raspberry with Domoticz, related to a setup with Personal Weather Station type TFA_Nexus and a sensor type BMP180 hooked to the Raspberry. Below are the 3 ...

Re: Soil-Moisture sensor

@Eugen If order is possible till 31.12.2018 with delivery till 31.12.2019, who cares about end-of-life (unless you are 'professionally'applying this device and need to guarantee life cycle after sales support for your deliveries)? Ali-Express at it's web-pages already asks whether you would like to ...

Re: Generate custom charts server side?

Required steps related to nnylund's first input and the listing in my previous message: 1) Readout is performed by Domoticz 2) After preparation of the sh-file, the creation of the initial rrd-database can be once-only, manual action at the command line of Raspberry. The example sh-file from ct2017#...

Re: Reading XML with LUA?

No fix found yet for the error in version 3. Because older version 2b is OK for my application with the STECA-read-out, not further investigated. But version 2b relies on manual counting of positions in the XML-file: :-( not nice & easy Obviously quite frustrating that the same script flawlessly ope...

Re: Soil-Moisture sensor

SHT10 or better equivalent should do the job by providing temperature & moist like DHT11/22. Protective housing to be included, to keep the moist away (to some extend). Something like this . When ordering, be aware (in your case) that you get a sensorhead with a connection cable of >1m length: ;-) o...

Example rddtool-implementation for a meteostation applying a pi raspberry: https://www.ct.nl/softlink/1705042/ Functional chain: 1) use Adafruit-scripts for reading sensors 2) create rrd-database 3) update rrd-database 4) graphic output from rdd-database by rrdtool 5) copy/upload of the resulting pn...

Re: Losing contact with remote Domoticz installation

SSH triggers basic functions in the Pi: if that method of access does not work, rather sure that the basic communication path is at fault. At the Pi-end perhaps (as alternative method of access/control) the equivalent possible of Teamviewer or VNC to get an easier look at the 'internal operations' o...

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

Now: see that 'single' PHP-script for multiple devices is running with effects as expected Status 15th September2017: The combination in cron of 'checkers' plus 'reboot/12hours' seems to work. Very rude&basic, not a 100% remedy, but better than before ....... For 'Todo'-list: Make Roomplan & change...

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

@Egregius 2 Simple reasons for my changes and dedicated, separate scripts: 1) I have no roomplan 2) not yet far in the learning curve for php-scripts, and therefore only try small tuning-changes => run first simple test with only the most critical devices, and separate the handling of those devices ...

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

;-) Puzzled, because experiments not giving the effects expected. Trying to find a solution for the 'problems' described in my previous message, put in a cron (besides the first line calling an sh-file containing calls to a series of Python-scripts): # 1 line calling the crash_checker described earl...

Re: Domoticz version 3.8153 released (Stable)

Subsequent to this message today I tried v3.8392. Results are mixed: - my Raspberry3 has no problems at all - my RaspberryB still goes Ofline, and therefore now again set back to 'stable' v3.8153, risking corruption of the database. Nothing really wrong, because all functions run as expected and dat...

Re: Domoticz version 3.8153 released (Stable)

Missed the message from Gizmocuz with the additional requirement. Apparently 'lost/overlooked' in the flow of new messages. But when I performed the advised installation on the 'problem-raspberry' (on which I earlier performed a few cycles installing 'stable' and 'latest beta' (ending with 'stable')...

Return to earlier, working beta-version

Triggered by this bug-report , the suggestion to provide the possibility to update to an earlier/previous beta-version of Domoticz. Return to latest stable version usually is going back in history quite some distance. Perhaps possible to identify an intermediate beta-version which is 'stable enough'...
