Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

Now: see that 'single' PHP-script for multiple devices is running with effects as expected Status 15th September2017: The combination in cron of 'checkers' plus 'reboot/12hours' seems to work. Very rude&basic, not a 100% remedy, but better than before ....... For 'Todo'-list: Make Roomplan & change...

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

@Egregius 2 Simple reasons for my changes and dedicated, separate scripts: 1) I have no roomplan 2) not yet far in the learning curve for php-scripts, and therefore only try small tuning-changes => run first simple test with only the most critical devices, and separate the handling of those devices ...

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

@Egregius This is the PHP-script php_ESP8266C_91_reboot.php <?php $lastupdate=0; $domoticz=json_decode(file_get_contents('http://127.0.0.1:8080/json.htm?type=devices&rid=91'),true); if(isset($domoticz['result'])){ foreach($domoticz['result'] as $dom){ $name=$dom['Name']; $update=strtotime($dom['Last...

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

;-) Puzzled, because experiments not giving the effects expected. Trying to find a solution for the 'problems' described in my previous message, put in a cron (besides the first line calling an sh-file containing calls to a series of Python-scripts): # 1 line calling the crash_checker described earl...

Re: error while loading shared libraries: libudev.so.1:

@gizmocuz

No problem installing extra software, but just wondering and asking remedy due to the different reactions of my RaspberryB and Raspberry3, as reported in my earlier messages. Would expect that both react the same way ..........

Re: Domoticz version 3.8153 released (Stable)

Subsequent to this message today I tried v3.8392. Results are mixed: - my Raspberry3 has no problems at all - my RaspberryB still goes Ofline, and therefore now again set back to 'stable' v3.8153, risking corruption of the database. Nothing really wrong, because all functions run as expected and dat...

Re: Domoticz version 3.8153 released (Stable)

Missed the message from Gizmocuz with the additional requirement. Apparently 'lost/overlooked' in the flow of new messages. But when I performed the advised installation on the 'problem-raspberry' (on which I earlier performed a few cycles installing 'stable' and 'latest beta' (ending with 'stable')...

Return to earlier, working beta-version

Triggered by this bug-report , the suggestion to provide the possibility to update to an earlier/previous beta-version of Domoticz. Return to latest stable version usually is going back in history quite some distance. Perhaps possible to identify an intermediate beta-version which is 'stable enough'...

Re: Domoticz version 3.8153 released (Stable)

Platform: RaspberryB Domoticz version: Installed 8153 (stable), Upgraded till 8389(beta), Trying 8390 (beta) After acceptance at the Dashboard of update to latest beta 8390, Domoticz goes Offline. Reinstall to stable version 8153 is quick & OK through Putty by means of sudo curl -L install.domoticz....

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

;-) Thanks for the contribution to my learning curve for PHP! Looks like a good starter to check&remedy by PHP-script those 'failing' ESP-readouts mentioned here In my setup WUnderground tellback-info appears as device in Domoticz. If upload fails, also the time validity from the read info stalls, a...

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

@Egregius PHP is for me still in the learning curve (=> my own 'inventions' are still rather basic), and therefore any example is useful (and better starting point) as basis for adaptation. ;-) Quite on purpose I put in the previous message "Is in your inventory of clever scripts"....? ", because I ...

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

@Egregius ;-) ;-) Perhaps a challenge .... Further analyzing the 'misbehaviours' in my system, which can be solved by reboot, I detect that one specific lua-script running at Raspberry3 randomly stops somewhere after 8 to 14 hours of running. [Unfortunately very visible because it handles an upload ...

Re: Script to restart Domoticz if it crashes

@Egregius Because of rather frequent crashes of one Domoticz_at_Raspberry, with interest looked at your 'crash-check-script' . Problem I have that most of the time 'my' crashes are not 100%, but only for certain applications (similar to problem of HFman): see this thread_at_other_forum . In one of t...

Re: Timer (x) minutes before sunset

Simplest is to use the Timer linked to a Switch.
Go to Dashboard/ Switches, select the desired Switch, select Timers, and then you have plenty of choices, relative to fixed clocktime, relative to sunrise, relative to sunset, related to certain days, incl./excl. ambiguity, etc.

Re: Generate custom charts server side?

@Egregius

You mean following, or something different?
1) copy/upload SQL-database to server
2) run graphing PHP-script on server, taking data from the database

Somewhere examples to learn from?

Could this reasonably priced dust-measuring device be meaningful for a DIY-realisation for measuring air-quality?

Re: Domoticz offline, but Raspberry reports Domoticz running

Looking for differences between my setups, I noticed following aspects: - my RaspberryB-with_Domoticz only has direct interfaces, nothing over WiFi (which is obvious, because it has no WiFi-interface) - my Raspberry3-with-Domoticz is handling the ESP8266s over it's WiFi-interface (because the cabled...

@hrikken 'Handgrip' already included in Domoticz-package. Look in /home/pi/domoticz/scripts/ There you find file: restart_domoticz Equivalent to service domoticz.sh restart Problem seems to have a link with computertype, because - my Raspberry_B is solid as a rock and already running for months with...

Re: Weather Underground Upload script

@R0yk3 Did it your way, but :-( as described earlier, some problems to get the crontab running again, which controls the python-upload script. As alternative, development &test of a lua-script for upload proves to be more difficult = time-consuming than expected: too many examples, too many adaptati...
