I agree, there's not really a need for it ofcourse, but we have a lot of QSTN commands, so when sending a LMDQSTN for example it should return the current listening mode. When someone wants to create a toggle/prev-next switch for example it would be nice to get the current state and being able to display that in a text sensor for example. I know, this might be a bit to much and is probably not intended to be in Domoticz.

So, At the moment i have no other feature request. The RAW option let's me do whatever i want i guess. Maybe other users have special wishes?

Thanks again!

Your receiver(like my 515 also) is too old for this plugin. It doesnt support NRIQSTN-command. Support for NRI was presented in TX NRx2x or NRx3x series.

Instead of this Python plugin try the native Onkyo support(Onkyo AV Receiver (LAN)) in domoticz made by dwmw2(?). Its working now at latest beta also with older receivers without NRI-support. See the previous page in this thread.

And big thanks to dwmw2 for the update! Its working nicely!

@dwmw2: Would it be hard to add device and learning of radio channels for pre-NRI-devices?

Example what I saw at log when used remote to change radio channels:
(PRSxx=Preset channel at main zone, PRZxx=Preset channel at zone2 ?)
Spoiler: show

I'm not sure how we'd want to represent those as a device in Domoticz. It's not a simple selector switch like the input selector, since the presets only represent *some* of the available states of the tuner. You can already use the plugin to send PRS00 etc. and hook that up to a dummy switch or script if you want. I think dzVents supports it, although I think some of the dzVents stuff only works if you don't have authentication, which might be a problem.

Yes I did but then I have only the possibility of switching on and off, volume and zone 2 from my receiver. I would like the possibility of choosing my input (like radio).

I the onkyo app is this possible why not in the plugin?

Hm, that ought to work. In the models without NRIQSTN it should learn the available input sources as you select them some other way, and after that it should be possible to choose them in Domoticz. With Domoticz running, can you cycle through all the inputs (in each zone) and show me what it does?

Hi,

I also use the Domoticz V3.8153 (on Synology).
I use the "Onkyo AV Receiver (LAN)" as default implemented in this version.
After entering correct settings (IP-adres of my Onkyo TX-NR414 (PRE-NRI) and port (60128) ).
I get the same:
2018-01-05 20:22:45.261 OnkyoAVTCP: Send PWRQSTN
2018-01-05 20:22:45.262 OnkyoAVTCP: Send MVLQSTN
2018-01-05 20:22:45.262 OnkyoAVTCP: Send ZPWQSTN
2018-01-05 20:22:45.262 OnkyoAVTCP: Send ZVLQSTN
2018-01-05 20:22:45.262 OnkyoAVTCP: Send SLIQSTN
2018-01-05 20:22:45.262 OnkyoAVTCP: Packet received: 9 NLSC-P
2018-01-05 20:22:46.262 OnkyoAVTCP: Packet received: 8 PWR01
2018-01-05 20:22:46.263 OnkyoAVTCP: Packet received: 8 MVL37
2018-01-05 20:22:46.264 OnkyoAVTCP: Packet received: 8 SLI23
2018-01-05 20:22:46.264 OnkyoAVTCP: Packet received: 8 ZPW00
2018-01-05 20:22:46.265 OnkyoAVTCP: Packet received: 9 ZVLN/A
2018-01-05 20:22:46.279 (Onkyo Receiver) Light/Switch (Onkyo Power)
2018-01-05 20:22:46.283 (Onkyo Receiver) Light/Switch (Zone 2 power)

What I did to get the switches in Domitcz is simply:
1. In Domoticz go to setup and make sure Domoticz is accepting new hardware/sensors.
2. Go to your Onkyo amplifier and put it on.
3. Now simply press 1 by 1 (one after each other) all the functions like Cab/sat/ Dvd/FM/USB/NET/whatever.
4. Turn the volume up/down for a bit.
5. Go back to Domoticz and now check your logg, you can now see that Domoticz received data.
6. Go in Domoticz to the Devices and Add the new devices to the switches.
7. Done

I hope I can help some people with this information.

Regards,
Xavier

Hi

Till step 5 it goes good ;-), I can see in the log that he receives the other inputs.
But then by Devices I don't see the devices? Is there another solution?

This is the log.

Hi,

I also use the Domoticz V3.8153 (on Synology).
I use the "Onkyo AV Receiver (LAN)" as default implemented in this version.
After entering correct settings (IP-adres of my Onkyo TX-NR414 (PRE-NRI) and port (60128) ).
I get the same:
2018-01-05 20:22:45.261 OnkyoAVTCP: Send PWRQSTN
2018-01-05 20:22:45.262 OnkyoAVTCP: Send MVLQSTN

Thx, but I don't see in settings and by devices the other onkyo (apparaten)devices like my radio input. :?

Are you using the Onkyo plugin maybe or Onkyo Lan? I used the Onkyo Lan and in my log I can see that he see my radio source.I hope you have another solution.

@ronald1977

I need to make my apologize.....
Production server is running 3.8153 and indeed devices are not being created...

On test server I'm running version 3.8804 (since today-->> auto update), in this version (beta) Onkyo devices (like Input Selector) are created..

Sorry for the inconvenience....

When updating to the latest beta the server crashes when running the onkyo parts.
When reverting back to the lastest stable i see these errors in the log:
2018-01-26 17:58:58.012 Error: (Onkyo) 'onMessage' failed 'TypeError':'onMessage() takes 2 positional arguments but 4 were given'.

Could it be something could crash the latest beta because of the onkyo part?

HI,

I have run into a small issue.
One of the inputs of the onkyo is at number 110. So if i try to select that input with blocks i cant because the level only goes up to 100%.
Is there a workaround for that ?

Regards,

Biggles.

You can move the inputs up and down when you modify the selectorswitch. Moving the desired input up at a level below 100 should do the trick.

Thanks Jimmy, that did the trick.
But this still leaves the problem with not being able to select a level higher then 100 %.
